About Swole Sisters’ Day

We celebrate women who are strong, both inside and out. Every day, we’re dedicated to encouraging and supporting women physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Swole Sisters’ Day comes from a desire to recognize the women who come alongside us in our journey to be the best versions of ourselves. It’s a chance to celebrate the relationships we build in the gym – relationships that change us for the better.

What is a Swole Sister?

“Swole” is a word used to describe someone who is physically strong and fit. Typically, this person spends a lot of time pumping iron in the gym or doing CrossFit for “fun.”
“Swole Sisters” are women who “get swole” together. But being a Swole Sister is about much more than just spotting your friend while she goes her reps. It’s about building trust by encouraging and supporting one another. It’s about forming a bond that goes outside the gym walls, where women come together in a community dedicated to healthy bodies, minds, and spirits.
In essence, a Swole Sister is a gym buddy turned ride-or-die friend.

Swole Sisters Are…

  • Ride-or-die friends
  • Supportive
  • Encouraging
  • Women who challenge us to be our best
  • Strong in body and mind
  • Fun, with an ability to make any workout a little easier

Why We Created Swole Sisters’ Day

When we created WodBottom, we didn’t do it to create a clothing empire. We wanted to build a business centered around body positivity, connection, and female empowerment. Not only do we embrace women of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds, but we also expand our reach far beyond our brand.

A portion of our profits benefit Domestic Abuse Intervention Services, a nonprofit in Dane County, Wisconsin. DAIS provides shelter and assistance for abuse survivors and their children, helping them escape domestic violence situations. We believe that all women deserve to live happy, healthy lives where they feel empowered and capable of anything they set their minds to.

That’s how Swole Sisters’ Day came to be. We wanted to celebrate female power, acknowledging the role other women play in our collective stories. On Swole Sisters’ Day, we recognize strong women who lift up other strong women. And we put our bodies to work, building outer strength that leads to inner confidence.
